Raheem Lee, 19, allegedly shot at three of the officers during the incident around 6:30 a.m. at North 10th and Brown Streets, Philadelphia police told multiple news outlets.

Lee tried to flee, but that's when several cops returned fire, shooting him in the head, 6abc reports. He was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital about an hour later.

The man had been wanted in the Aug. 21 killing of his brother-in-law, 34-year-old Theodore Bell, who was found dead inside a Range Rover on the 2600 block of West Berks Street, the outlet says. He was also reportedly being sought for multiple armed robberies.

The Wednesday incident caused three SWAT officers to be hospitalized for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, authorities said.

Meanwhile, Lee's loved ones are asking for donations on a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses.

"His family and friends are trying to send him away the right way, we ask if you can help pls help," reads the fundraiser, launched by Rahkia Lee.

The GoFundMe had raised $40 as of Thursday, Oct. 13.

Philadelphia mayor Jim Kenney wished the officers a speedy recovery and thanked them for their service.

An investigation remains ongoing.
